farewell my dear foot
We spent 40 years together. From the first step to the last, you have always been there with me.
Most of the time I took you for granted, never did I question your existence, never did I question if you’d carry my weight at each step nor did I question your ability.
We ascended mountain tops, ran and hiked, swam in oceans and lakes, travelled the world, served in the army, chased beautiful girls, explored caves and desolated locations in search of beauty and solace.
We drove and paddled everything that had wheels attached to it. We scrambled desert rocks and rappelled hidden canyons, we held my daughters when they needed comfort and carried them to the ends of the earth and back.
And now we must say goodbye.
No words can convey the real emotional process I went through during that time back in 2013 when I made the decision to proceed with an elective amputation.
But what I do remember is the powerful energy accompanied by making such a decision.
It’s an inner knowing that you’re doing something right.
After months of uncertainty and fear, months of feeling stuck and out of control, every cell in my body resonated in agreement.
Here’s my short attempt sharing how making a pivotal decision can change your life.
It sure changed mine.
This post is based on my original video from 2013 where I made the decision to proceed with an elective amputation.
I hope this post was of service to you, perhaps you found some answers, guidance and inspiration for your own journey.
If you know anyone who needs to hear this message please share this with them.
